Privacy Policy
Our commitment to your privacy.
Introduction
Your privacy is important to us. thumbi.one is designed as a stateless tool, meaning we prioritize providing our service without the need for user accounts or long-term data storage.
Data Processing
thumbi.one does not collect, store, or share personal data. Our tool operates by processing the
YouTube
URLs you provide. This processing happens in real-time, and the extracted image links are served
directly from YouTube's infrastructure (i.e., i.ytimg.com or
img.youtube.com).
We do not keep a log of which URLs are being processed, nor do we associate searches with your IP address or browser fingerprint.
User Consent
By using thumbi.one, you consent to this Privacy Policy. Since we do not require signups, using the "Get Thumbnails" search function is the primary way you interact with our service.
Cookies & Tracking
We may use basic browser cookies to remember your preferences (such as UI themes or language) and to help us understand site traffic using anonymous analytics tools like Fathom or Google Analytics. These do not store personally identifiable information (PII).
Third-party services, such as font providers (Google Fonts) or CDN providers (Unpkg), may collect standard technical data (like IP addresses) required to serve the requested assets to your browser.
External Links
Our website contains links to external sites (like YouTube). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third-party websites. We encourage you to read their respective privacy policies.
Detailed Data Retention Policy
Because thumbi.one is built on a stateless architecture, our default retention period for any identifiable session data is zero. When you paste a URL into our search bar, that string is processed in your browser's local memory and sent to our extraction worker. Once the image headers are retrieved and displayed to you, the worker instance is destroyed, and no record of the URL remains on our infrastructure.
This "privacy-by-design" approach ensures that even in the unlikely event of a security breach, there is no database of user activity to be compromised. We do not maintain logs of which thumbnails are downloaded or by whom. Our server logs are configured to anonymize IP addresses immediately upon receipt, ensuring that we only see aggregate traffic patterns (e.g., "1,000 requests from Western Europe") rather than individual user behavior.
Third-Party Service Providers
To provide a high-quality experience, we use a limited number of trusted third-party service providers. These include CDN providers like Cloudflare to protect against DDoS attacks and ensure fast global delivery, and Google Fonts to provide our modern typography. Each of these providers has its own privacy policy regarding the technical metadata (like your IP address and browser type) required to serve their assets to your device.
We also use basic diagnostic tools like Google Search Console to monitor our site's health and indexing status. These tools provide us with aggregate data about how users find thumbi.one in search results but do not allow us to identify individual visitors. We do not permit these third parties to use your technical data for any purpose other than providing the specific services we have requested.
Interpretations and Definitions
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, "The Service" refers to the website accessible from https://thumbi.one/. "The Company" (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Agreement) refers to thumbi.one. Word meanings are consistent throughout this document regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.
Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual. thumbi.one specifically avoids the collection of Personal Data to ensure a private and secure browsing environment for all visitors. We define "Processing" as any operation which is performed on personal data, such as collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation, or alteration.
Children's Privacy & Age Restrictions
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us. If We become aware that We have collected Personal Data from anyone under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, We take steps to remove that information from Our servers.
Because thumbi.one is a public search utility that does not require registration, we do not have a mechanism to verify the age of our users. We encourage parents to monitor their children's internet usage to ensure a safe and compliant online experience. Our tool is intended for use by professional creators and researchers who understand the copyright implications of the content they are accessing.
Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA & Beyond)
According to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), users have certain rights regarding their data. These include the right to access, correct, or delete any personal information held by a service provider. Since thumbi.one does not store user accounts, IP addresses, or search history, we inherently satisfy these privacy requirements by not processing the data in the first place.
If you have any questions regarding how your browser interacts with our infrastructure, or if you wish to exercise any of your statutory rights, please feel free to reach out via our contact page. We are committed to transparency and will provide you with a detailed explanation of our technical stack and data handling processes upon request.
Policy Updates
We may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in our tool or for legal reasons. The last updated date will always be displayed at the bottom of the page. We encourage users to check this page occasionally to stay informed about our data handling practices.
